As 2025 comes to an end, we want to take a moment to look back at what has been one of the most important years in crDroid’s history — and to thank everyone who made it possible.
A Growing Community 🚀
This year, the crDroid community grew more than ever. New users joined us, long-time users stayed, and contributors continued to push the project forward. Seeing so many people trust crDroid as their daily driver is both humbling and motivating. You’re the reason this project keeps moving.
A Big Year for Android Updates 📱
2025 was packed with development work:
- Delivered a large number of Android 15 updates, for both older and newer devices
- Introduced Android 16 support, with QPR1 already merged, laying solid groundwork for the future
Keeping devices up to date, stable, and enjoyable to use remains our top priority, and this year highlighted just how dedicated our maintainers truly are.
Challenges, Transparency, and Community Support 💙
Let’s be honest — this year wasn’t easy on the financing side.
We explored different ad systems, evaluated what worked and what didn’t, and ultimately made the decision to remove ads entirely. In their place, we introduced a donation-based system — and the response from the community was incredible.
Your support proved that crDroid doesn’t need intrusive solutions to survive. It needs people who believe in the project — and you showed up.
Looking Ahead to 2026 🔮
Our focus for the next year is clear:
- Continue delivering updates for all supported devices
- Further polish and expand Android 16 support
- Prepare for and integrate upcoming QPR2 changes, which are already in sight
