Launching crDroid 12 BETA — Based on Android 16
We’re officially moving forward — crDroid 12 BETA, built on Android 16. That means it’s in active development, and you should buckle up. crDroid’s trademark clean, stable, and highly customizable experience is still the goal, but porting everything to the Android 16 base isn’t trivial.
What to Expect
As with every major base upgrade, the early stages are rough around the edges. Our priority is to bring forward as many of the improvements and features from previous crDroid releases as possible, while making sure they adapt cleanly to Android 16’s new foundations.
And if you know where to look — wink wink — you’ll notice that some devices already have the first bits pushed. Early adopters, you know the drill.
Since this is a BETA release, you should also expect bugs, unfinished features, and quirks. Stability will improve over time, but right now it’s all about testing, feedback, and ironing things out.
crDroid Roadmap Updates
- crDroid 10 is now officially dropped. No more updates or support.
- crDroid 11 has entered the maintenance/security release stage. Expect only critical patches from here on out.
